| The
Killarney series is inspired from backcountry hiking across
the La Cloche mountain range, mainly in the interior of Killarney
Provincial Park. Most of the series depicts the rugged cliffs
found at what most hikers refer to as "The Crack". The Crack
is literally a large 30-foot expansive crack between 60-foot
walls of quartzite rock. The trail takes you along the bottom
of the crack where boulders as large as small cars lay on
the floor of the crack. Careful foot placement and slow movement
will take you along safely to the top of the rock walls, which
stand at 380 metres. Remarkably, windswept pines embed their
roots in small cracks atop this summit, somehow enduring the
elements. |
